Brown United at the European Winter X Games, Tignes, France

ESPN, CANAL + Events and Tignes Ski & Snowboard Resort held the first Winter X Games Europe March 10-12, 2010. The event was the first Winter X Games held outside the United States. There were eight different competitions over three days, including Ski and Snowboard SuperPipe and Slopestyle for men and women as well as a Snowmobile demonstration. Brown United constructed lighting and control support towers, scaffold towers, and other sporting event structures for this spectacular, first-ever event.

Snowboarding was introduced to the at the 1998 Nagano Olympics with halfpipe and individual giant slalom being the inaugural competitions. At the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, Parallel giant slalom replaced the Individual slalom and snowboard cross was introduced at the 2006 Torino Olympics. In the short history of Olympic snowboarding, the United States leads all nations with 14 medals, Switzerland is second with eight and France has five.
